This is a patient from Texas who came to my Scottsdale, Arizona area medical practice with a number of concerns. She was unhappy with the large size of her breasts, and had symptoms of back and shoulder pain. This patient also had a large abdominal scar (from a non-elective surgery performed by another surgeon) with bulging of the abdomen and a distorted belly-button. Finally, she was unhappy with excess fat of the flanks and thighs. For this patient, I recommended a breast reduction surgery with a breast lift in order to decrease the weight of her breasts while improving the shape and "perkiness" of her breasts. I recommended a vertical (lollipop pattern) breast reduction to avoid a scar under the breasts. The patient specifically requested a fairly small reduction to maintain a full breast size. With regards to the abdomen, I recommended a full abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) in order to tighten her abdominal muscles, remove the old abdominal scar, and improve the appearance of her belly-button. Finally, I recommended Power-assisted liposuction of the bra-fat, flanks (love handles), inner thighs and outer thighs in order to improve her contours and help her fit better into clothing. I performed a vertical breast reduction with removal of approximately 150 grams per side. I also performed an abdominoplasty and liposuction of the bra-fat, flanks, inner thighs and outer thighs. The patient recovered well after this combined surgery and was extremely happy with her new appearance. Furthermore, she had complete relief of her back and shoulder pain with the breast lift and reduction.
