This patient is a 34 year old female from the Anthem, Arizona area who presented to my Scottsdale, Arizona area medical practice with interest in "mommy makeover" surgery. Specifically, the patient felt that her breasts were too small and she was unhappy with the appearance of her abdomen. She had been involved in a car accident multiple years ago and had emergency surgery leaving her with a midline abdominal incision that distorted her contours. I felt that this patient would benefit from a combination of breast augmentation and a full abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) with liposuction of the flanks (love handles). I explained that due to her preexisting abdominal scar, she would still have a partial midline scar because she did not have enough excess skin to remove the entire old scar. However, I felt that she would have a significant overall improvement in the shape and tightness of her abdomen. In surgery I performed a breast augmentation using Mentor 375cc smooth, round, cohesive silicone gel implants placed through the areolas and under the chest muscles for the best result. I also performed a full tummy-tuck with tightening of the abdominal muscles, scar revision, and power-assisted liposuction of the love handles. This patient was extremely pleased with the postoperative appearance of her body, and felt that her proportions and overall contours gave her a boost in confidence and self-esteem.
